Dr. Perle Feldman
Perle FeldmanPerle Feldman was born and raised in Montreal. She demonstrated her first interest in childbirth at age 8 when she performed a forceps delivery on a guppy. She studied at Jewish Peoples' School and Wagar High School. She attended McGill University doing her undergraduate degree in psychology and her medical degree. After a confused and checkered postgraduate career, which included a rotating internship and time in obstetrics and pathology residencies, she became a family doctor. She has a strong interest in maternal and child health.

Dr. Feldman sees her patients at Herzl Family Practice Centre of the Sir Mortimer B. Davis, Jewish General Hospital, where she has a "womb to the tomb practice." She teaches family medicine at McGill University & the Sir Mortimer B. Davis - Jewish General Hospital. She works for the College of Family Physicians designing simulated patients for the national licensing examinations, and was recently on an expert panel for the Quebec Ministry of Health to increase the rate of breastfeeding in the province. She is a well known teacher and writer on the subjects of women's health and obstetrics. Many of the family physicians delivering babies in Canada today have been taught by her one way or the other.

She has received several awards including the Practice of Excellence Award for Patient Care and the Woman of Valor Award from Women of Lubavitch. She has recently been named a Fellow of the College of Family Medicine.

Dr Feldman likes to write and has published medical articles for both the profession and for the public. She recently published a highly controversial editorial in the Journal of Obstetrics & Gynecology on why physicians continue to cut episiotomies. This article was featured in Time Magazine, and the Wall Street Journal. She also indulges herself with the writing of short stories.

Her best and most important ongoing work is her family which includes her husband of 25 years, David Glaser and her 4 children, Alison, Erica, Emma and Josh.
