We are currently in the process of undergoing a gestational surrogacy and I am hoping to breastfeed the little one when they are born.

Are there any women who have had a hysterectomy who have been successful in breastfeeding? What protocol do use and how do i go about it?

Thanks your taking your time to read and respond.

Hello and welcome! I am an IM also.. Yes ladies the surrogacy is back on . You have come to the right place! Lenore is one of the creators of the NewmanGoldfard protocols. And yes you can breastfeed with having a hysterectomy. I had a complete one 20 year ago at 20 years of age. I am now on the extended protocol... But if i pumped I can get 1/2 ounce now. You have the perfect situation.. You can go on the protocol long term and have a full milk supply when your baby is born. The protocols are on this site..I am sure Lenore will chime in

Hi There,

Welcome to Ask Lenore!

Nona's right! We have a memopause protocol for this situation. You can find it here: http://www.asklenore.info/breastfeeding/induced_lactation/gn_protocols.html

It's best to read the whole guide so that everything makes sense. We recommend that ladies who are menopausal do the protocol for as long as possible, at least 60 days but the longer the better. So if you know your surrogate is currently pregnant, it's a good idea to start ASAP. We must thank Nona for this protocol. She was very instrumental in it's development and helped us to refine the finer points. Thanks again, Nona!

Warmest regards,

A

Hi Concerned!

Lenore's having a problem logging on tonight and asked me to let you know that the above post is from her. You can email her directly at lenore@asklenore.info and she'll email you the entire protocol so you can read it at your leisure without having to click through the pages.

Sorry for the temporary inconvenience. By the way, if anyone else is experiencing technical difficulties, please email Lenore ASAP.
