ok, so I'm not pumping or anything, but I (and I know I'm not really supposed to do this) sort of hand expressed (meaning I gently squeeezed the nipple) and I got a ton of whitish watery drops all over each nipple! MAkes me wonder how much I'll get when I start to nurse with the lact-aid and/or pump.

Our baby is now due June 5th, thru induction, or sooner. My accelerated protocol offically ends the 30 days of BCPs on June 7th. We'll probably be able to take our son to our hotel on June 6th. This is if all goes well and as planned.

I am so grateful for this board, this protocol, all of it! Thank you all!

Hi Deborah,

This is indeed good news but you need to be a good girl now and leave your breasts alone. Hand expression causes the release of oxytocin which we don't want right now. We want your breasts to have the best chance to develop their milk making apparatus without premature ejection of milk ok?

Hang in there a little while longer. Since your baby is due on June 5 you may want to consider stoping the birth control pill the day before on June 4 so that you can start breastfeeding right away with the lact-aid www.lact-aid.com filled with either your surrogate's milk or formula when he's born. It would help if you could pump for about 10 minutes after most feeds. But once your baby arrives the main thing is to ENJOY your baby.

Best,

ok, ok,ok,ok, I am now leaving them alone <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" /> I hope the several times I did this today didn't ruin things. Yikes.

Our baby is coming to us thru private domestic adoption so I'm not sure I will be given access to bf right away. We can try, but hospital policy and the nurses' discretion will be the rule. SO, I may continue on with the bcp til that monday or tues - just a day or so shy of the 30.

I have the lact-aid and a rented pump (symphony) both of which will be coming with us to the birthmom's state.

Thanks again, Lenore, for all the help.

Sounds like you have everything you need. Be sure to contact a board certified lactation consultant to assist you. This will make things a lot easier. I've provided instructions when I replied to your other post.

Best, Lenore
