I'm getting frustrated again. I am pumping and massaging, taking 100mg of Dom, blessed thistle, Fenugreek and drinking plenty of water. I am following an 8 times a day schedule and am still getting tiny dropletts out of my breasts. Tomorrow will be the one week point. I can't increase my Dom anymore due to the horrible headaches Dom gives me. Did anyones milk output get better the 2nd or 3rd week? Our baby is due in 2 weeks. I have a SNS ready for use.

I can only provide encouragement to you. You have worked so hard up to this point, don't let a little frustration deter you. You have to have the mind set "This will work!". Everyone is a little different and once you have the baby your body will respond. The experience will be worth every second. You are doing all the right things. Keep up the good work!

I didn't respond at all this time the first 2 days. Then I realized it might be partly psychological, so I started looking at pictures of babies when I pumped. That kick started me and I started increasing much more quickly. I also agree that when the baby comes you will increase even more quickly.

Good luck.

Hi.

I only got droplets my first week or two...I was only pumping 1 ounce every 3 days. It was so discouraging! I kept at it and in the second week of pumping, I turned a corner and began pumping 1 ounce a day. Now I am up to 3 ounces a day. I was only on 80 mg of dom and just bumped it up to 90 mg and I can't take the herbs.

I think you are doing great! As many have said on this message board, a baby is also much more efficient than a pump.

We have a milk bank in Colorado and you can purchase milk from the bank even colostrum. There are other milk banks around the country as well and they will ship to you. You can put that into the SNS so your baby gets breast milk while you are building your supply.

This is also a great source for breastmilk for supplementation: http://milkshare.forumotion.com/ We fed our second daughter exclusively through donors (stork drop) and had 27 donors in 7 states. Used friends, and also contacts from this website. I did my research to know what I was comfortable with and had some really great experiences, and made some good friends too.

Update: It has been 2 weeks and I have had some ups and downs. I noticed my pump suction seemed to be less and less (it was used). I went out and brought a new one and WOW "got milk". My supply is still minimal, less than an ounce. My breasts seem to alternate each pump cycle. Two weeks and 5 days til our due date. Thansk for the help everyone

I am on day 4 of pumping and barely getting anything. The first day I was encouraged because I almost covered the entire bottom of the bottles. Now there seems to be not much, if anything. I am only taking domperidone, should I really try adding the herbs? The fenugreek really makes me nauseous so I am trying to stay away from it. I am trying to be patient but at this point it is hard to tell whether or not this will work. On a brighter note, I do have over 1000 oz of donated breast milk so if all else fails, our baby girl will still have the nutrition benefit of Breast milk. Any encouragement would be greatly appreciated!

Lovin - I wouldn't be discouraged at this point. My first two days of pumping I really didn't even get drops. Then I slowly increased. I would expect as you continue pumping you will see an increase each day. One thing that did help me was looking at pictures of babies. Good luck.
