Had a GREAT conversation with our birthmom yesterday-- I am just so hopeful. She is just utterly certain that adoption is the right thing for her baby-- says there is NOTHING that will make her change her mind. Then she said she'd been worried WE might change OUR minds-- not likely! She is excited to hear we are so ready for a baby at our house, and asked how soon she could expect pictures. She was surprised to hear I had already bought a scrapbook for her that I plan to fill gradually with baby pictures.

She says the baby is awake around 4 am every day, so I'd better get ready to be up at that time of night! They are doing an ultrasound tomorrow to see how big the baby is...she is still trying to talk the docs into inducing her, but they aren't quite ready to do it yet. I haven't got up enough nerve to talk to her about my plans to breastfeed, but if we continue to talk as easily as we did yesterday, I may just mention it to her one of these days....

I am THINKING about packing my suitcase.....am not sure I dare to yet, but am feeling really great about this situation....this one may work out for us!
Pray for us.....

Mary,
You and your family are in my thoughts and prayers. Isn't it great to talk and communicate with birthparents. I think I am anticipating that just as much as a baby. To meet the birthmom and just feel that bond with her. Connecting with the birthparents is so special and sacred to me.

Love,
Bella

Keep us posted on how it goes! I am praying that this is the one for you, too!
If you need any info, I will be glad to email it to you, or post it here. Just ask away!
I wasn't planning on telling Jeran's birthmom about the breastfeeding. But, the nurse let her mom and dd into the nursery the first time I was feeding him, so of course she found out. She was a little taken aback, but thought about it, and was really happy I could do that. Her whole family was supportive, and birthmom's dad even told me how he was telling other people that I was breastfeeding, because he was impressed by that.
Good Luck!!

You don't have to tell her about the breastfeeding if you think she would not be happy about it..but it sounds like the bm is really great. Shouldn't be long now,, a newborn and then a toddler after the new year...WOW...you are so blessed...take care, Cathy
