I am on the surgical menopause protocol. This is my ninth day pumping. I now get about 4-5 drops every session (about one every two hours during the day and 2 at night). What can I do to get a spray? My baby needs more!

Thanks.

Are you eating oatmeal? Taking Fenugreek and Blessed Thistle? Which pump are you using at which speed are you pumping at? How many times a day do you pump? Are you using the SNS or Lactaid to feed baby? Are you drinking plenty of water and liquids? I also just met another LC that recommends taking Goat's Rue by Mother Love.

Thanks for your response. I take fenugreek, blessed thistle, and oatmeal. I am using the Pump in Style from Medela and use LactAid for feeding. I try to pump every two hours during the day (abt 6 -7 times) and then couple times at night. I increase the speed initially and then decrease it after 30 seconds. I have not heard of goat's rue but will give it a shot.

Let me know if youy think of anything else. Thanks!

the baby feeds about once every 2 hours. I pump after every feed whenever I can...I average about 6-8 pumping sessions a day. Its hard to get more sessions in.

I am now making about 2-3 mL of milk ffrom the left breast and instead of making just drops, I am making more milk in the right breast than before but nearly not as much as I am currently making in my left breast.

Every drop counts, so I feed everything I make to the baby and its a very pleasant feeling. I wish I could make more and am continuously trying. Thanks for your support.

Sounds like you are doing great. Keep it up. It will get easier as time goes on and your milk supply increases. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />
