amyff no offense but I think your LC is wrong. How much experience does she have with adoptive breastfeeding and induced lactation? Really the longer you can stay on the protocol the better. I agree with jenmarko wait until you know more.

No offense taken...that is what my heart is saying, too. She has gone to Newman conference and heard him speak and has worked with some adoptive moms but mostly bio-moms who struggle with nursing and supply issues. She told me that it seemed like I had "a handle" on everything.
I am going to stick to the program...but go buy the herbs and get the pump out of storage...just in case.

I think that sounds like a great plan. I was so lucky to have prepared and bought the herbs ahead of time, or I wouldn't have had time to get them before we left to pick up our daughter. You will know better after you meet the bm. The worst thing that will happen is that you might have to use the lactaid for a while and that will be okay too (and you might not).
