Hi Everyone,
We are in the process of trying to adopt. I would love to do the original protocol but employer will not let me pump at work..not to mention I don't know if I can afford Dom for that long! frown

I BF bio-son for 8 months and continued pumping (at different employer) for another 4 months. I had no supply issues.

We are possibly looking at potential birth late April/Early May. I already have Domepridone...but need to buy more. I also have one month of Ortho 1/35 and one month of Yasmin...which means only 21 active pills of each. Small note...I do have a history with a lack of progesterone being produced--long term side effect from Depo. Was with a fertility specialist for DS#1...but think it has returned as I have not ovulated in months.

Based on the accelerated protocol what should I do? Since potential is being induced we will have a birth date. So based on counting from expected birth date

A. Ortho 1/35 + DOM for 21 days then Yasmin+DOM for 21 days (no pumping at all)...then do just Dom at expected birth date with nursing/lact-aid and pumping?

B. Yasmin + Dom for 21 days then do just Dom at expected birth date with nursing/lact-aid and pumping?

Thanks!

I think I would do both bcps just to give yourself a little longer on the protocol. I might start pumping a few days in advance if you can, even if you can only do it during non work hours. That will give you a little jump start.

Thanks Jennifer!

As an update....
Found out we definitely have a BM. She is being induced 06May11.

I started taking the DOM and Yasmin now.. Once I get to day 21 of Ortho 1/35 planned to switch to Yasmin since it had a higher dose of progesterone and I am doing accelerated and I don't produce progesterone.

But....it has only been a little over a week and this evening my breasts have started hurting! Oh I recognized that pain instantly!! I don't miss that engorged sensation at all! I wanted to pump but decided against it. Not to mention my job has agreed to let me work from home starting 25Apr11 so I can start pumping. I know I won't be able to do every 2-3 hours but will try my hardest!

So my question is...what to do?!?! I know I keep reading that there is no point in pumping while on the BCP....and most likely nothing will come out should I start at least 1 or 2 times a day (thinking two times at night-can't do mornings? Can I take anything for the discomfort like Advil since I am not pumping? I know starting the 5th I will switch to Yasmin since it has more progesterone...but now is it worth it? Should I just stick to the Ortho 1/35?

Thanks!!!

DON'T PUMP! There is no point while you are on the bcp's and it defeats their purpose. Start pumping after you stop taking them. I just took tyelonol, but I would think advil would be fine while you are not pumping.

If you can't commit to pumping until April 25, I would just stay on the bcp's until that time. It works best if you can pumpt at least 6 times a day (including at least once at night).
