Hello to Everyone...

Congrats to Lenore. I am so happy for you and your family! You are an inspiration to many women. Also, I guess Texas isn't such a bad state for surrogacy.

It has been a while since I posted. Joining you ladies for a new reason. I'm hoping to pursue gestational surrogacy and wanted to get some words of wisdom.

I found this website when I was relactating for my twins last fall/winter. Lenore provided me much encouragement and information through her emails and I received helpful information on bm from some of the other members. Thank
you all so much.

Well, I'm considering trying to overcome another hurdle and hoping for information and encouragement. Hoping to get back on the infertility roller coaster, however, this time will be even more challenging since I don't have a uterus anymore. Thinking about gestational surrogacy, but not sure if I am doing the right thing.

I have plenty of obstacles to overcome before moving forward with my dream of more children. One question I have is do people chose a surrogate based on location and the laws? I live in Texas and wonder if we need to be
looking for a surrogate in a surrogate friendly state like CA. I'm concerned about states that say the birth mother has all the legal rights to the child she "births". This may sound crazy but what if she wants to keep my baby? Also, would I be required to adopted my baby? How do I pursue finding a surrogate if I can't afford an agency? We don't have insurance so will already be struggling with the IVF cost and won't be able to afford the added expense and security of using an agency.

Also, another dilemma I have is wanting to wait to have another baby. I know that sounds strange, but I don't want to take time away from my 13 mo twins with caring for another baby. I already feel so guilty that they aren't the only baby getting all of my baby giving attention. However, because of my age (close to 39) I feel that I need to have my eggs harvested NOW then frozen as embies to be used at a later date (maybe a year). Is this idea as crazy as it sounds?

Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you ,
kris

Kris,
Go to surrogate mothers online. SMO they are loaded with information and many message boards. They also have a classified section. You can get a surrogate from there as well. I know there a surrogates from texas there looking for IPs I know of atleast 3 of them.
