4 losses at 5 weeks, and BOs at 6 and 8 weeks. I've had every possible test except for the remote and controversial immune tests; everything seems to be normal. The only thing they've found is that I have a pericentric inversion on my 9th chromosome. I've stumbled across another woman with the same inversion and 8 mcs at 5 weeks, and am beginning to suspect there is a subgroup of women with this inversion in whom it is sinister! Does anyone else have this, or think it might be the reason?? Feel free to e-mail me at va5303 ('at' symbol) nersp.nerdc.ufl.edu

Dear Valgal,

I am so sorry for your losses. As a mother who lost 8 pregnancies to recurrent miscarriage before my two sons were born, I understand how devastating this is.

You mentioned that you had testing done. I'm assuming that you've been tested for antiphospholipid syndrome, anti-cardiolipin and anti-nuclear antibodies. These are not remote or controversial tests but are part of the usual panel for recurrent miscarriage patients. Assuming you've tested negative for these, please visit this website:
http://www.americaninfertility.org/newsletter/thoughtsonmiscarriage.html

Richard Bronson, M.D., is an Associate Professor and Director, Division of Reproductive Endocrinology, University of Stonybrook. They specialize in chromosomal anomalies related to recurrent miscarriage. Perhaps he can help you.

Another option is St. Barnabus. They specialize in helping couples with recurrent miscarriage issues. Have a look at this website http://www.sbivf.com/info_Miscarriage.htm
Perhaps they can help you as well.

Please keep us posted on your progress.

My thoughts and prayers are with you.
Warmest regards,

Lenore Goldfarb, Ph.D.,CCC,IBCLC
