Well Ladies,
We are starting our surrogacy journey again. We have a surrogate in Washington <img src="http://www.asklenore.com/ubbthreads/images/icons/grin.gif" alt="" /> . I ordered my shippers and TYB today. Since we will have to ship the sample through the mail. We should start next month! Wish us luck this time.
hugs to all Nona

Nona,
After our Guatemalan baby is home and settled in, we are thinking about a surrogate, but will not be able to afford the 60 grand the agencies charge. I hope you will be able to help us find one (TS), you seem to know sooo many. I hope it all works out for you, I am sure this is THE one! take care, Cathy

Cathy,
Oh yes I can help you find a surrogate.. I know many that ask from 5,000 to experienced TS who get up to 25,000 and everything in between.

Thanks Lenore! Well we should be inseming in the next 10 days. Still have a chance on the baby to be born next month as well. But I don't hold out much hope for that. The grandmother is pretty persistant on getting it. But if it turns out we do. .We will just have 2 little ones running around the surro baby and adopted one. But I believe we will just have the surrogate one. Our surrogate is so sweet. We plan on flying up when she is about 4 1/2 months for a visit. Then again at the birth. She has to have c-sections.. so we will know when its to be born. She has really regular cyles to. So hopefully it won't take long to get preggo.

Hey Nona,
Good luck..I am sure it will work soon! We missed the international cutoff time today at the airport by one minute..turns out it was for the best...oiur facilitator called after we left for the airport and said they think the Embassy in Guatemala is not starting any new cases after today and of course our case was to start tomorrow...so, now all travel plans are on hold and we may not even be able to get Ana or do any adoption for a long time in Guatemala...it seems very fishy in that the day after we send in the 2nd nonrefundable installment of 8500 dollars, that we get this news. Hmmmm.
See why we don't trust anyone is the whole adoption business? I am too upset to even think straight right now,, seems silly, but we had bonded wth the photo and think of her as our daughter already. What would have happened if I got on that plane? She said the police are stopping adoptive women and foster moms on the street and if I had gone down (and not received her message yet) then...I would have to stay in the hotel room and not go outside for the whole trip...sounds just like Peru all over again...now what do we do? I guess just wait and see what happens with the Embassy tomorrow. What a bad day....Cathy

Cathy,
I just wanted to say that I am sorry. I wish that I had magical words of wisdom that I could say to make things better for you. I will pray that you hear better news tommorow.

Take Care,
Bella

Hi,
Thanks everyone,,,I think we may have Nona help us to find a surrogate also...I don't know how much more of this adoption business I can take,,,,Now the latest is that even if we put her in an orphanage, we may still not ever be able to have her assigned to us, as now the government of Guatemala will assign all kids. Turns out on a website call
"ethica" there have been warnings about Guatemala since April...which I did not see, nor did our facilitator tell us about it.
We will know more on Monday, in the mean time, she is getting older each day and being bottle fed. If we don' t get good news on Monday (like we can go and travel down etc and adoptions will still be processed)...I am afraid she will never latch , she is already 10 days old... We may keep trying for her, but start with surrogacy also. Thanks Nona, I will e-mail you and get your input...Cathy

Well Ladies..as I knew would happen the baby to be born this month....The Grandmother will parent it. But please pray for us!!!! Another POSSIBLE situation might be coming our way.If we get the baby.. it will be a very happy open adoption. Please pray for the Family of this baby. This can never be an easy decision.
hugs to all Nona
