Hi everyone, I am new to this message board, but am a member on several others. A quick history. I am on the accellerated protocal as we are hoping to have a match for our adoption anyday (probably within the next 2 months) I have been taking Yasmin for 3 weeks, and 80 mg a day of domperidone. I had some initial spotting, and then it went away. Yesterday I started a full on period. Is this normal? I still have 3 more days in week 3, and obviously am not taking the sugar pills. Also When did you start feeling differences in your breasts? I am not really feeling anything. And they do not seem to have gotten any bigger. What do you all think?

Hi Anne,

I wish I had more info on your period mid-Yasmin ... but I'm not sure on that one. As for breast changes, I saw the most significant changes after about a month .. I was on the accelerated protocol too.

Keep up the good work!

Thanks Christina,

I posted on the yahoo support group and got some good aadvice and it sounds like this can be a normal, though annoying, side effect of Yasmin. I actually just started noticing that my boobs are enormous...I wish I had measured them before hand, but I put on a bra that I had not worn for awhile and it was way too small, so it sounds like things are moving right along! I am hoping to be able to do the yasmin for one more month, and then I will start pumping once we find out we have a match.

Anne

Anne, I am glad you got some answers. How long have you been waiting to adopt? It sounds like from your posts that you are looking at a quick placement and I just wondered if that is the case. Would you be willing to share the agency you are going through? We are thinking of adopting again and our first time was a private adoption. So knowing a good agency would be nice.

It is a long story, but in a nutshell, we signed up with our agency two years ago and 1 1/2 years ago we recieved a referral for a 2 month old baby girl in India. We expected to have her home last february. But, their has been a LOT of problems on the india side of things, and she still waits for us over there. We have no idea when we will get to bring her home. SHe is now 20 months old.

In may our agency was kind enough to allow us to start another adoption simultaneously and we signed up with their minority infant program. They work with 6 different agencies mainly in the south to place newborn babies. WE are waiting to be matched with a biracial boy or girl. Most matches do not happen until just days before the mom is due or right when she has the baby. SO it is quick in that sense. Unlike a caucasian baby who has roughly 10-15 families waiting to adopt them, there are usually only 3 or 4 that are willing to adopt a bi-racial or AA baby, so the wait time is usually one to 6 months....though as is the bab luck of the Dunlops, once we signed up for the program, they got a gluttony of parents and so we are looking at closer to 4 to 6 months. That is okay as we are about at 3 months now and the longer I can stay on the yasmin, the better. But yes, it looks like it could be any day. Our agency is PLAN loving adoptions NOw in Mcminnville, OR and they are fabulous. They have bent over backwards to help us through both of these situations, that were out of their control. They have a website that you could visit. Another one if you are interested in Minority infant would be the Cradle in Illinois. THis is one of the agencies that PLAN works with and we are being shown at. Their website I believe is www.cradle.org.

Good Luck,

Hi Anne, We're working with Open Adoption and Family Services down in Eugene. Are you in Eugene by any chance? I'm just curious...it would be nce to know someone in town doing the same thing. I'll be educating my OB?GYN if he is willing to oversee the protocal with me (I'll do it without if not). Good luck with PLAN. We have a few friends who have adopted through them.

I don't know why you would subject yourself to something so dangerous as Yasmin. Domperidone is fast, SAFE, and very effective and will certainly make you lactate faster by using it alone

you didn't actually give a site address, I tried to just put a dot com at the end of that but nothing. Why do you feel that Yasmin is so dangerous? It is much safer than many of the fertility drugs etc... that these ladies have been through. You are willing to come here and make a statement, will you be willing to defend that statement? Also it would be nice if you register, it is very easy to post just about anything anonymously.
