I am about 2 weeks into the accelerated protocol using Yasmin and Dom. My breasts definately are larger and I am starting to feel some pain, but it is only in the inner side (inner being the right side of my left breast and vice versa). Is this normal to have the pain in isolated areas in the beginning? Our birthmother is due January 10th so I am a little concerned that I will not be able to complete the full 30 days. If my entire breasts start hurting is it ok to start pupming or should I wait until the baby is born? Also, how do I pump when I am breastfeeding? Won't the amount I pump reduce the amount the baby gets from the breast? How often should I pump when I am nursing?

Thanks for all your help and please keep us in your prayers that the PBM does not decide to parent,
Jane

JaneA, It is normal for your breasts to be sore. You are mimicing a pregnancy and breasts can be very sore in the beginning of pregnancy almost untouchable at times. Do NOT pump until you have completed your protocol.
When you do start pumping it will be when your baby is here. You will breastfeed using a lact-aid or SNS system with formula or donated/pumped milk. So the baby will be at your breast stimulating milk production. You pump after nursing and anything you get you save to put in the lact-aid at the next feeding. As for how often you pump.....it will be after each time that you nurse and typically is every 2-3 hours. But I maybe a little off on that. I am sure Nona knows or one of the other ladies here.
Will definitely keep you in prayer. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />
