I went to the doc today for 2-week follow up since my 18-week loss. But, no conclusive answers. I'm dissapointed that my doctor did nto run the panel on anticoagulant or lupus antibodies, but has said he'll look into them and follow up with me to have blood drawn for them. All other blood work was normal. Pathology was normal; autopsy, although not conclusive of anything, was not extensive and showed nothing. The chromosone tests are not in and may never be in, dependent upon if they grew or not. If I had an immune disorder or other possible things, why did my body keep both my babies for four weeks after they died? Our first loss was at 8week, but I didn't find out until 12 wk; this recent loss was 18wk, but didn't find our until 22 wk. I have had four live births, all normal healthy children, youngest being 11. DH also has two normal healthy boys. We have none as of yet together.
Any ideas on where to go from here and where I shoudl look for a doctor? My doc says wait two cycles and go ahead and try again. I'm 34. I'm not feeling very confident that it is okay to try again right now. I don't know what to do without finding any answers. Our baby looked abnormal at birth, but pathology says it was not abnormal, just from decomposition from the length of time ithad been in utero after death.
I'm scared and confused. sorry so long. jamie (again, posted as anonymous, won't allow my registered name to appear - sorry)

Jamie, I am sorry for everything that is happening to you. You are both certainly very blessed to have 6 kids between you both. I would still try to find a specialist, esp. if you feel deep down you do not want to try again until you have more answers. We had a head nurse where I work, who had 17 miscarriages,,,she was I believe around 40 at the time. She had two grown children from a previous marriage. Anyways, she did finally have a little girl. She had to take steroids, be on total bedrest, not even allowed to go to the bathroom , had a nurses assistant give her bed baths everyday , had her cervix sutured etc... but it did finally work. The fact that you have had 4 kids already leads me to believe you will be fine. You are still very young and have lots of time. Take care, Cathy
