Hi everyone, I've been lurking here, reading, being encouraged, laughing, crying and rejoiciing with you all for several months. I started the acellerated protocol in November. I took my last bcp last night and started pumping every one to two hours since then. I've never been pregnant so this is a true induction. Anyway, I'm taking the Dom, Fenugreek, and Blessed Thistle. I eat oatmeal at least once a day and I'm getting plenty of fluids. I'm pumping every 1-2 hours over the weekend to start. I'll pump every 2 to 3 hours on the weekdays. Anyway, I hope to be able to get you guys to hold my hand as I start this and wonder if I'll ever see breastmilk running down the horns of my Whittlestone expresser. Wish me luck and thanks in advance.

Hi Hugs! Welcome to the ask Lenore forums! And CONGRATULATIONS on your impending arrival! There lots of ladies here who will gladly hold your hand. This is an exciting time for you. Your about to really see what your body is capable of. You can find the guide to the protocols here http://www.asklenore.info/breastfeeding/induced_lactation/gn_protocols.html they contain the Recipe for Increasing Milk Supply http://www.asklenore.info/breastfeeding/induced_lactation/increasing_milk.html as well as the pumping instructions http://www.asklenore.info/breastfeeding/induced_lactation/pumping_instructions.htmlYou didn't mention the amounts of fenugreek and blessed thistle that you're taking. We recommend Fenugreek Seed (610 mg per capsule) and Blessed Thistle herb (390 mg per capsule), 3 capsules of each, 3 times per day with your meals. Also, it's best to take the domperidone about 1/2 hour before meals. So research suggests taking the domperidone 90 min after meals but if you're like me, it's easy to get busy and forget. So I prefer to take it before meals as I'm preparing my food. It's best to pump as often as you can when you're home even if it's every hour and once during the night so that you get in at least 8 session in a 24 hour period. Some mothers pump as soon as they awake. Then again at lunch, when they arrive home, then every two hours until bedtime and then once during the night between the hours of 1 AM and 5 AM when your natural prolactin level is at it's peak. This should help you to get in 7 or 8 sessions. It's important to try not to go more than 6 hours without pumping or your breasts will want to start to shut down. If you can't pump at work then you may want to learn how to hand express. The technique is here http://www.lactationinstitute.org/MANUALEX.htmlOnce you have the baby on your breast things will go much easier. Hope this helps. Warmest regards,
Lenore Goldfarb, Ph.D.,CCC,IBCLC Wife to Rob, Mom to Adam aged 13, and Ethan aged 9, both born via GS and breastfed via Regular Newman-Goldfarb Protocol.
