Hello!

I was on the accelerated method, then the adoption plan fell through. I was at the pumping stage, getting about 10oz a day... well... when the adoption plans fell through I kept "somewhat" I was not nearly as diligent about pumping as I should have been, and now I'm only making 3 oz... Should I re-start the protocol, or just make sure I keep pumping? I am not sure what to do. We have another situation wtih a 3.5 month old... we would be picking him up within a couple weeks... He has never nursed, so I am hoping to be able to get him to latch.

Thanks,
Kristen

Hi mommy to three,

I am sorry to hear of your adotpion falling through. I just went through the same thing about three weeks ago. When it happened to me, it was suggested that I go back on the protocol. However, I also did not have another possible adoption so close in time.

Dedicated

Are you still taking the dom and herbs?
Currently how often are you pumping?
Do you have a lact-aid system?

Yes, still on the dom and herbs... after the adoption fell through I probalby only pumped two - four times a day... I've been trying to go back to every 2 hours (sometimes hard with my other little ones climbing all over me). I do not have the lact-aid system.

If you get matched with this baby you will need the lact-aid system. Step up the pumping and once you get him to your breast things should pick up. You will need the lact-aid so there is somethign there when he nurses. If he won't latch you can use the lact-aid to finger feed until you get a latch.
PS someone had a lact-aid for sale in the Buy Sell forum
