Hi! I have been on the accelerated program and began pumping today for my baby boy due in 6-7 weeks.I already have had some success with pumping! My problem is that I will not be able to access my electric pump during my work day. Should I try the hand pump or is it not sufficient? I should be able to adhere to the schedule of every 3 hours when I am not at work, but just can't do it during the week. Any suggestions?? Thanks for any advice!

I think the hand pump would be better than nothing. I would try it. It will at least give you some stimulation. Good luck.

I found that the hand pump worked better than the mechanical pump. You can also hand express.

I always hand expressed after I pump.. I got several more sprays out after pumping.. I agree... a manual pump is better than no pump at all. There is the medela mini electric.. its a bit noisy though. Or you can try the avent hand pump.. or medela harmony hand pump.
