This is just a quick update and a question or two.

After being on the regular protocol since August 2004, I took my last pill on Saturday and began pumping last night (Sunday). My plan is to pump 4X/day. 9am, 3pm, 9pm and 3am. I got maybe 1/2 tsp total at my 1st pumping and then I got maybe 1 tsp total at my 3am pumping and about the same this morning at 9am. I am continuing my dom.

1. when should I start the herbs?
2. should I continue to "prepare" my nipples by brushing a bathcloth over them (no soap) in the shower? My left nipple might be starting to crack a little...

Thanks in advance for any advice or encouragement!

Wow, Kalli that is fantastic. So you are still on the dom right? You should add the herbs now. You don't really need to do the bath cloth stuff, But you can. use lanolin on your nipples if they are dry and cracking or the Nipple Cream from mother love herbals. You don't have to wipe either off before pumping or nursing.

Kallie,
You can start the herbs right away. I would NOT rub a wash cloth on my nipples. That can sure cause them to be raw. If your nipples are already starting to crack. Make sure you are NOT going about MEDIUM on your suction. You going to have a great supply <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

That is GREAT Kalli! Sounds like a great start!!! Add the herbs now. Dont rub your nipples with the wash cloth that is a wives tale that the nipples need to be toughened up. Keep up the pumping sounds like you are on a roll

Thanks for the encouragement, ladies!
Today is Wednesday, so I have been pumping for 3 full days now. I started my period yesterday and my supply decreased significantly. I was discouraged until I remembered reading here that that was to be expected when you menstruate and that it should pick back up. I am planning on not expecting much until my period is completely gone or by day 7 or so. I am using the olive oil with great results. The tiny crack that I was getting on my left side does not seem to be getting any worse and is not painful. I am continuing the dom and I began the herbs yesterday.

Thanks again! I am so glad to be a part of such a supportive group!
