Howdy all...I don't get much time on-line these days, but I had to post. I've been taking Yasmin since February, along with the dom. and just stopped the Yasmin and started pumping this week. I am already getting at least an ounce at each pumping session. I'll start saving it next week, just in case there's any extra hormones left. I knew I'd have more milk than with my first dd, but I didn't expect it so soon. Of course, I hope this means I'll just keep making more. I am so excited to think I'll be able to nurse sometimes without the supplementer, not to mention have less homemade formula to make.

Great News! You can start saving it now. Please don't dump your precious milk down the drain.

I've started saving/freezing my milk and now have an 8 oz and a four ounce jar in the freezer. This is so cool! My only hope is that I won't be pumping with no baby for a year...we're waiting to be chosen by birthparents at this point, but we're almost to the average waiting time for our agency. We'll see

Now that I'm saving up milk, I'll probably make a full supply and have to donate my milk...the irony of life just kills me!

Congratulations on your success with your milk supply! Many mothers store their milk in breastmilk storage bags like Gerber or Lansinoh who make them with a ziplock top. Fill to 6 oz and lay flat for the most economy of space.

I've got 48-4oz jars (and I filled one 8oz er) so the good fats won't stick to the plastic of the breastmilk bags. Since things are going so well, I did go out and get some of the bigger, Lanisoh bags for when the jars are all filled up. I'd just prefer for as much of my good fats to go to the baby and not to sticking to two plastic bags, ya know?

Also, I haven't taken the time to figure out why, but I'm Tamara and I haven't been able to log in. I tried campbeta (my e-mail address), but I did want any of you who keep track of such things to know who I am

WOW Congratulations on your supply. It sounds like you are off to a great start. It sounds like if you keep going like you are you wont have any problem making a full supply. I started off the same way. I was pumping 30 ounces a day when my dd was born. I had 600 ounces of frozen breast milk in my freezer! She is now 15 months old and still nursing strong. CONGRATULATIONS. I hope you have a baby soon.

Hi Tamara,

Don't stress about the fats. There's plenty in your milk. And the bags are usually coated so that most of the contents slip out when you pour them into your feeding tube device. If you use jars you run the risk that they can burst and you run the risk of no freezer space. It's also quite the bother to thaw the milk from the jars, again they can burst. Trust me on this one honey.

I have a wonderful strawberry jam recipe that you can use for those jars and to give away for Christmas if you're interested
