Ok, so I am guilty. I am hanging my head in shame and feeling very, very guilty. I didn't pump at all yesterday and even thought about just giving up. Today, I decided to see if my milk was starting to dry up and I pumped out so much milk that I was in SHOCK!! Seriously, the look on my face is of disbelief! I have started collecting the drops from the breastmilk horn and cone (or whatever they are called) with lupron and IM needles. The needle part really lets me suck up every minute amount. So, I was having a hard time filling one small lupron syringe (they are insulin needles basically) to the half point mark. Today, after not pumping for 24 hours+, I collected 5 syringes PLUS 1cc in an IM needle!! I had drops coming out about 1 per every five seconds. It was INSANITY!! So, that just gave me the inspiration to keep going. I really feel like I'm hitting these peaks and valley's, but I truly see that if I just keep it up I'm going to be seeing streams soon!! Thank you everybody for your encouragement and inspiration.

Yeah!! You go girl! Congratulations! Question--you said you had 5 syringes full--how many cc's is in each syringe...3? An insulin syringe is 1cc, so if you are talking about a regular 3cc syringe and had 5 filled, and plus the 1 insulin syringe, that's 16cc's girlie! Wow! Awesome! Keep it up!

Michelle, oh I wish it was a 3cc syringe. It's the small little lupron needles. They say 50 units, I think. I believe it's either .10 or .15 per syringe and I assume that is ml? They are very, very small. However, with every pumping now I am getting anywhere from 1 to 1/2 ml's (is that cc's?) I'm using the syringes that I used for IM injections when I was doing gonal f and repronex. I knew those left over needles would come in handy for something.

Aww...I'm glad to be someone's inspiration! LOL!! I feel like I've just hit a wall, but in reality it's truly more and more every time I pump. YOU CAN DO IT!!

Oh, but, still that's something! 100 units is = to 1cc. cc's and ml's are the same thing. Not sure what you are talking about with an IM needle, but, the syringe is what counts. That's still awesome, Saige! Keep going! I just got an 8 oz. bottle of "More Milk Plus" from the local Lactation Boutique or whatever you call it. It has Goat's Rue, Fennel Seed and Fenugreek in a very concentrated liquid. It is very helpful she said for building/repairing mammary tissue. It is not the best tasting stuff, but, you only have to take 1cc in a couple oz of water 4 times a day. I just drop it in my tea that I drink 4 times a day and it is not that bad because I have gotten used to the taste. Women who have had breast augmentation or reductions or breast surgeries use it to repair the mammary tissue for breast feeding. She said her clients swear by it. So, what can it hurt? Keep it up, girl! Happy pumping!

Hi Saige,

This is wonderful news! Please return to your pumping schedule. Keep track of what you pump in a 24 hour period and you should notice your milk supply increase day by day.

Best,
