Your expertise out there is much appreciated!
I dropped the Yasmin Nov 15, and have been taking the 9 bt and f with 80mg Dom daily. I nurse my baby with the SNS 10 minutes both sides every 2-3 hours, and pump or suckle an additional 3(ish) times a day as well. When I pump, my milk barely covers the bottom of the bottle. So, I'm troubleshooting. Give it more time? Is he latched well? Did my sinus infection slow things down? My husband is an awesome encourager, but I'd love to hear from ya'll. Thanks!

Did you take anything for your sinus infection? Some meds can dry things up. What does his poop look like and how much supplement is he taking? Keep doing what you are. Pumping when you are nursing like you are doesn't always show up in the bottle. But the stimulation helps.

I only took extra vitamins (c, zinc, probiotic, colostrom...)for the infection. His poop is great. Mustardy, seedy, and several times a day. He gets 2 oz every 2-3 hours from the supplementer. Maybe it's just my pump? I'm only using the Ameda purely yours. I've never felt engorged, but do feel a small difference after he eats in the way my breasts feel. Hopefully he's getting more than I think.

IF his poop is mustard seedy then that is from breastmilk. Are you using formula in the Supplementer? I would try tonurse him longer or without the SNS after he finishes his feeding. SOunds like you are doing great.

I have a friend donating milk to me. He gets mostly her milk...sometimes formula if I run out. She's pumping for her baby, so I get the extra. So nice.

Hi Purplek,

Congratulations on your new little one and on obtaining donor milk. I thought it best to advise you that the PY is not a recommended pump for inducing lactation or building milk supply. It's ok if you're a birth mom and you have a lot of milk but only one mom on this board has reported success with that pump. The pumps most of the moms on this site seem to use are the Medela Pump in Style or Limerick Pj Junior. Some also use the Medela Lactina or Symphonies but they are rental pumps and it's more costly to rent than to buy generally speaking.
