I've been pumping for 4 weeks now and I'm getting about 2.5 oz per day. But about 1.75 oz of that comes from one breast, while the other breast only produces .75-1 oz. Does anyone know how to get the other breast to catch up? Or is this completely normal?

Also, I seem to have stalled out. I was getting about .25 oz more each day, but once I got to 2.75, I haven't been able to get any more. It hasn't dropped off much, which is good, but what can I do to get it to increase again?

Thanks,

Niki how often do you pump? And for how long? You can pump for 10 stop and massage/jiggle and pump for 10 more that often helps with a second let down. You can also hand express after pumping. Some women find that helps to get more milk out.
Having one breast that produces more is totally normal.

I pump at least 7 times a day, and on weekends I try to do more (since I'm home and have more time to do so). Yesterday I managed 10. I generally pump for 7-10 minutes, stop and massage/jiggle, then pump for 7-10 more. I find that the second round usually gets very little, but I go the full 7-10 minutes anyway.

Thanks for letting me know it's normal. wink
