Well Ladies

For now I am still going at it. I had decreased my pumping to 3 to 4 times a day and I was only taking 2 domperidone a day for a few days. My supply has only been down a few ozs. I cannot quite quit at this time. I had decided to and then I changed my mind. Things are looking a little better in the adoption arena so now I am more hopeful. Anyway I want to get back up to 15 plus ozs. a day do you think that I can do this? I want to get the liquid herbs again they were great with increasing my supply. I am hoping that I did not mess things up to much by decreasing the meds. and my pumping sessions. What are some things that I can do to increase my supply? Should I pump every two to three hours? I have not been eating oatmeal would that help. Your expertise would be appreciated. Any prayers that you can send our way would be great.

Thanks so much,
Bella

Bella, the big thing is supply and demand. The more you pump the more you make. You can try staying at the dosage of dom you are at and just up your pumping. See how that goes and if necessary add back in the herbs and up your dom. Your supply should be back up in no time. If your fine at the level of dom you are at you can stay there until a baby is in site then just kick it up a notch.

I am hoping that within a few says I will be back up. I am a little worried as my boobs seem a little smaller, and not as full. On a good note I am still shooting sprays, though today each time I pumped I pumped less. My boobs also seem just a little floppy. The milk is still there though so that is a good sign. Please send positive thoughts and prayers our way, we need them right now.

Thanks,
Bella

Hi Bella, I cut back to 3 x a day pumping (30 min sessions) and am still getting 16-17 oz a day. Forgetting to take my dom seems to diminish my supply much more than decreasing pumping. Of course everyone is different, but based on my experience, I would advise you to go for the less frequent pumping, but just get your dom dose back up there. Pumping every two hours just overtakes your life. Of course you have to decide what is best for you, but you've got to come up with something do-able for your life. I am SO much enjoying only having to pump 3 x a day. I feel like I have my life back. One other thing that helps me a LOT is to dissolve the dom under my tongue. When I do that, my supply is unfailingly better. I am really pleased that even tho my daughter may not nurse right away (or at all), at least my pumping will allow her to have breastmilk in her bottle just as soon as they give her to me in Ethiopia... Hope you get your baby soon!!!!
