Okay, I am offically worried. Yesterday and today I only pumped a little over 9 ozs. My breasts are not as big/full, veins not as big, and my boobs are not as hard. Saturday I think I pumped 13 1/2 ozs. Then on Sunday I got sick and things pretty much went downhill.

My questions are can I get back what I have lost, ozs, fullness, firmness. If I can how do I get it back?

When I had decided to stop there was not anything on the horizon. I was basically told by our social worker that it could be a while until we got a baby. So for the good of my family and myself I decided to gradually stop pumping.

I posted on the 9th that I was stopping and then on the 13th a friend contacted me about a potential birth mom. That same night I called this bm and now things are progressing well. We are not offically matched as of this point but we are hoping to be soon. There are a few things that need to be worked out yet, like meeting with the agency, and getting in contact with who needs to be contacted. It is to early to tell but we are just a little excited. Tonight we talked on the phone and it was great, the bm was due April 13, but today they changed it to May 10. Our potential bm asked for an ultrasound so she gets a better picture as to when she's due.

This friend who contacted me about this bm is a great person. We became friends because of adoptive breastfeeding. She posted on another message board questions about adoptive breastfeeding and I answered them, since then we have e-mailed back and forth. In a way I can say that because of what I am doing and being somewhat educated about adoptive breastfeeding, we now have a potential bm who wants to place with us. My friend told this bm about what I am doing and when we talked the first night our pbm brought it up. She was fine with it and it was so easy to talk with our potential bm about adoptive breastfeeding. So who would have thought that pumping and being educated about adoptive nursing could bring about a possible match for us. I never would have dreamed that a bm and I would discuss the hows of adoptive nursing and that she would support me in it. But then again my friend is wonderful, and our potential bm is awesome!

So wish us luck and say some prayers for us. I know that things will work out right know matter what. I could also use some milk prayers. Please send me your thougthts and advice as to what I can do to help my boobs and my milk supply.
