It's been a while since I've posted -- a baby has been keeping me pretty busy I just wanted to share my recent success! I had been on the regular protocol since April when we received a call in August. To our shock, we were matched with a 3 day old baby boy! I stopped the BCPs and started pumping and our son was home with us two short days later. So, at five days of age, I began breastfeeding him using a Lactaid. I figured I was starting at a deficit and it was unlikely I'd ever catch up, but I've done it! At 3 months of age, my son is now getting all breastmilk! I'm am so thrilled and so proud of myself! Thanks for all the help I received here!!!

Thank you for posting, what a relief to hear it is possible. Our baby is due any day, I'm taking the birth mom into the doc today for her weekly appt. She's 38 weeks now. I've been pumping for 3-4 weeks and I only have 4 teaspoons saved. I get 1 cc out of both breasts per pumping. I probably am not pumping enough though. I am good if I get 4 in a day, but mostly it's 3 aday. Thanks again!! Blessings, Jamie

Jamie I think it is time to kick up the pumping. You are getting close, so as much as you can mimic a newborn schedule will help.

Thanks Laurie, I *know* that, but it's very hard with home schooling with three other children. I promise to try!! Today I only got three in, I took the birth mom to the dr then out to dinner. The Dr. Stripped her membranes, so hopefully it will happen soon. We'd like a baby before the 12th, which is the due date. They also did a NST, baby was quite content and happy the Dr. said. (She's had a still born, so they are monitering the baby closely). We're in the home stretch! Blessings, Jamie
