We are in the process of adopting, but still waiting for a match. We have no idea when to expect one, either. I have been researching ABF, and the protocols. The protocol recommends Yasmin BCPs. I think that YAZ is the same, but with a different number of placebo days. Does anyone know if that is true? Can I use YAZ? If so, does anything need to change in the protocol or does it stay the same? Any help you can provide would be greatly appreciated!

I believe YAZ is Yasmine and you don't use the placebo days at all with the protocol so those don't matter the protocol would stay the same

Just a heads up with Yaz, one of the side effects are migraine headaches. I was put on Yaz after the birth of my son and had to stop taking it after a month of use because I had 3 migraines in 5 days among many others! Once I stopped taking it, the headaches went away.

no Yaz and Yasmine are two separate BP's. Yasmine has a higher estrogen or pregesterone output...cant remember which one. I too amd starting the protocol and am adopting within the year. Do not take the placebo pills only take active pills...that requires you to get two month woth of pills at a time so you dont run out. yaz will work too but yasmine will be better as far as the accelerated protocol

Then if they are two separate ones you need the Yasmin for the protocol
