I'm working with a mom right now who is adopting in February. I'm recomending the accelerated protocol but thinking she should stay on the bcp past 60 days if possible. Am I thinking right?

Hi Lenore! Hope all is well. Yes I do still pop in occasionally. smile

Hi Susan, Good to see you. You are right in thinking she should stay on the bcp 60 days if possible. It will still give her time for some pumping and she can always nurse with a lact-aid until her supply comes in if necessary.

So the bcp we are using for the accelerated protocol will be fine to stay on longer than 60 days or should she switch to the extended, since it may be another month before she pumps?

Hi Lalle! I love popping back in here and seeing familiar "faces".

Are you doing Yasmin or Ortho? Either one of them is fine.

I think there is not much difference between the accelerated and the longer protocol. You just stay on the BCP's longer. I stayed on them for 8 months, but had no idea when our baby would come to us. It could have been 1 month or it could have been over a year.
