Hi All,

Well, Monday is the 'big' day. I have an amnio scheduled for 10:00 monday morning and I will have to admit I am a bit nervous. I am not nervous about the procedure itself (after two heperan shots a day in the stomach for three months, one more isn't all that scarey to me), but I am nervous about the results. I know they do a level two sonogram before the amnio, and if all looks well they do the amnio, so I am just praying this baby looks good and all is going ok. Oddly, I never used to worry about birth defects or chromosome issues until my last miscarriage, when it was discovered that the baby had an extra #9 chromosome, now it seems to be all I can think about and sometimes wonder if it was wise for us to do this in the first place because of my age. I keep trying to remind myself that trisomy 9 is a very common occurance and that the likelyhood of another trisomy baby is no greater or lesser then before, but it isn't working....

Anyway, Please keep us in your prayers everyone.

Thanks for listening.

Barbi

Barbi-
My thoughts will be with you! Best of luck!

P.S. How bad are the Heparin shots? I am going to be starting them when I get pregnant and I am worried!
Thanks!

Heather,
The Heaprin shots use a very tiny needle, similar to what diabetics use to insulin. And , believe it or not, the shots in the abdomen I felt (with IVF) are much less painfull than in other places. If you get a very quality good brand of needles, not cheap dull ones,,,you will barely feel the shots...don't worry! take care, Cathy
