I have had a terrible time with the right breast blistering, bleeding, and it has white spots. This all began after a coarse of antibiotics that I took for mastitis. After that my milk supply dwindled to about 3oz per day and I have had to work real hard to get it up to 6-7 oz per day. I already took two treatments "yeast" pills. The kind that you take only one. This helped slightly, but is still have a lot of sensitivity and still get blisters occasionally so I treated topically with vaginal yeast cream and that seemed to help a bit but I just got two more blisters. Tonight I just bought Genetian Violet. I applied it liberally to my nipples. Do you have any other suggestions?
What about the milk that I am saving? (Our baby is due Nov 16). Won't the baby get thrush? If he does what do I do?
I just want to be prepared ahead of time for any future problems.
Thanks again

I think it's diflucan that helps best when you have a stubborn yeast on your breasts. Sometimes it can even get into the breasts, which makes it difficult to get rid of. If you are still having problems with it, I would ask your Dr to prescribe diflucan. I think that's what it's called. I have never had a problem with infections on my breasts, but this is what a couple of girls on another breast feeding bulletin board have gone through, and that is what they recommend. Also, you may want to read the links about thrush at Lenore's home page. They are also helpful.
