I'm an adoptive mother to be, and have just been trying to find a supplier for fenugreek capsules to use as part of the protocols, but one of the suppliers said fenugreek should not be used during pregnancy or if lactating. Can anyone clarify this for me?

Hi,
Women have been using Fenugreek for a long time to help with lactation,,it has long been used in India, for example. It has been in numberous articles that I have read that it is helpfull...I used that and blessed thistle ,,but found it was so many pills to take in one day. The only side effects I had seen mentioned for fenugreek was lowering of blood sugar.
It can also make you gassy, and your sweat will smell like maple syrup. Other than that, maybe someone can chime in here with any research that has shown a contraindication when lactating...Cathy
