I was diagnosed with breast cancer last year at the age of 31 and underwent a double mastectomy with full reconstruction at the end of September, 2002. I am now 1 day OVER my due date for my first baby who we call Tadpole. I am interested in anyone who would be willing to privately donate breast milk so I can feed my baby the best for as long as possible. My full story is at www.feedmybaby.com and if you're interested in donating milk please just e-mail me at . Thank you so much in advance! Jenn

Jeanne,
I read your story.. I hope a donor works out for you! If no give me a shout and I will try to find you one. Okay.. there is also a thing called a contact nipple shield. If your baby can't latch to your nipple you can use that. Start out with it at a feed.. After a few minutes then you can take it of real quick and put your nipple in the babies mouth. Your new nipple will be stretched out so to speak from the babies suction. I am sure you will be able to nurse.. the sns will be great. I was going to suggest that to you. Though you might find the lact-aid more comfortable

Nona,

Thank you so much for your support! I've got MANY women who are interested in donating milk to my little Tadpole! Hopefully it will last for over 6 months!

I've got a nipple shield that I'll be using with the SNS. The skin on my breasts that was formed into nipples is REALLY hard - but I'm definitely going to give Tadpole a chance to make them soft and bigger! What a miracle THAT will be! hee hee

I'm going to try the SNS because I've heard that its not as messy as the Lact-Aid - but I do know that they're available. The SNS is more of a test to see if Tadpole will be able to latch! If not then I'll use an Adiri breastbottle nurser and make sure to take private cuddle time when Tadpole is nursing. I'll also bare my breasts and snuggle Tadpole into them while feeding at home or around my family.

Thanks again and if I'm getting low on donors I'll let you know!
