Hi Ladies. I am one of the mom's supplementing with the formula that was recalled. In fact, the expiration dates given for the cans possibly affected matched those on the cans in my kitchen. This is even further reason why I'm trying so hard to get to 100% breastmilk.
Anyways....as a reminder....my daughter is 10 weeks old. I breastfed and formula supplemented the first 4 weeks. Due to medication I was on, I stopped nursing at this point. At 8 weeks, I decided that I wanted to relactate. I have been pumping every 2-3 hours for the past two weeks, have been on domperidone (20 mg. 4x daily) for the past 8 days, have just added back the fenugreek and blessed thistle today and have switched over the the PIS (from the Ameda pump) yesterday and I eat a bowl of oatmeal everyday. I have noticed some increase in my milk supply (going from about 1/2 oz. to about 3/4 oz. daily). I just thought that after 8 days of the domperidone that I'd see a greater increase in milk supply (especially since I only delivered 10 weeks ago and have only been off breastfeeding for about 4 weeks). Although, I can't say that I ever really felt that I got my full milk supply in prior to my discontinuing nursing.
Does this probably mean that I won't ever get enough to fully breastfeed or at least substantially feed with breastmilk -- or does the increase with domp work this way (very gradual)???? If I were going to get an ample supply of milk, would I have had a bigger increase over the 8 days on the domp?
Any input/suggestions would be much appreciated!

Oh Tandra!!!
Thank goodness you were able to find out about the recall !!!!
You're doing all the right things. You've only been using your PIS for one day and already you've seen results. This is good. With everything you are doing you should see a significant increase in your milk supply very soon. In the meantime, get in touch with Nona Davis. She runs a mother to mother donor milk exchange. There is no charge for the milk, all you pay is shipping and the donors are mostly surrogate moms who's intended parents can't use the milk for various reasons ie: they live overseas and so on. To be a surrogate mom they have to go through extensive medical testing. But Nona can explain all of this.
Nona?
Hang in there. All my best to you, Esther

Tandra. I was on domperidone max dose, with herbs, oatmeal and pumping for 5 weeks and only produced drops. You have an advantage since you just delivered 10 weeks ago. You should be seeing an increase soon. I believe it takes at least 3 weeks for domperidone to reach max. effectiveness. I am on the regular protocol now. 3/4 ounce is way better than nothing...your milk will come in, just keep up with all you are doing. Take care, Cathy

Tandra, You really need to get your baby breastfeeding and allow her to breastfeed all the time, that is way better than any pump. You may need someone to help you do this and make sure that she is breastfeeding well but your daughter breastfeeding frequently and well will get your supply up to all she needs. Dawn
