I checked it out. So am I right to assume it is okay to do this diet while nursing? Does the laxative tea, salt cleanse, and lemonade not effect the nursing toddler? I think I could do it for the 10 days and then come off it with the veggie soup etc... I really need to cleanse and have wanted to for awhile. So if this is okay to do while nursing I am game to try it. My little guy only nurses before bed and occasionally in the night or early am. But it is mostly for comfort.

I have lost 50 lbs on Atkins.. the whole time while pumping. I did NOT loose my supply. With Atkins you eat ALOT of food.. protein and green veggies and you drink ALOT of water. It keeps the kidneys flushing all the extra protien out of your system. So its not really what I call a diet. I was NEVER left hungry. I am nursing now.. And I have started back on Atkins again to loose more weight. I had a thyroid problem they corrected and said I would loose the weight. NOOOOOOOTTTTTTT! Didn't happen. I will post how it goes the second time around.

Wow, Nona that is great! Did you start off with the strict 2 week induction phase? I am thinking I will try it again and just not do the red meat or high fat foods. The problem I had with Atkins was as soon as I was off of it and added back in any carbs I would gain back the weight I had lost. I am not willing to give up carbs forever. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smirk.gif" alt="" />

Well, in my opinion not all forbidden carbs are bad. I eat sprouted wheat "Ezekial" bread and spelt pasta, rice cakes, etc... Grains are so important to our nutritional well being. Atkins doesn't allow too many of those, so I couldn't stay on it very long. And as for the substitutions, Yuck!!!!
