I have a question about the lact-aid. I have looked at it and think I am going to use it. However my question is this...When you go out say to the mall or over to a friends house do you keep it around your neck or have to put it on everytime you want to nurse. How long can formula stay out of the cooler. Does it leak? Will I be walking around the mall and end up with formula all over the front of me? I know how the mechanics of if works but how does it work with life?
Thank you

Hi:
I used one for a little while with my first daughter. I would keep the milk in a little lunch pak cooler for around the mall. Then warm it up right before you breastfeed. Yes, it can leak if you squish it or spill it upside down somehow but if still, then it doesn't.

Good luck,
LD

I only had mine leak once and it was squished. After that I learned to check and make sure the top was firmly pressed together. I never had another issue with leaking. I kept mine in a little baby cooler too. They heat up really fast under hot running water or you can sit them in a cup of hot water and that works quickly too. If you aren't going to be gone too long you can just drop it in a cup so it stands up in the diaper bag. I did that in the cooler too.
