This is very common, called break through bleeding. Not to worry just stay on the bcp even if you bleed. I had a little break through bleeding. But now I am having a very strong period. It is lasting longer then usual also. It started off very very strong and I usually dont have heavy periods. I hope I am OK. Julie

Kerri member Joined: May 2003 Posts: 61 British Columbia, Canada	Breakthrough bleeding can be heavy or just light spotting. It's common in the first 3-4 months on hormonal birthcontrol like the pill. It can be a huge pain, but isn't a sign that anything is wrong. It's just your body adjusting to the extra hormones and will settle down in time.
