We got a call the other day saying we were chosen, then we
were "unchosen" and now it's all on again. And now it's a sure thing, with paperwork underway and everything. A little girl who is almost 4, and a baby boy of 2 months old. Oh my goodness!!!

Okay, the rollercoaster is killing me, but we are travelling today to meet our kids tomorrow. Consents will be signed on Tuesday, and we'll be able to bring them back next weekend. So it's been an insane couple of days. Somehow we've managed to put up a crib, clean out the spare room, buy a van (gulp!), get everything together, and trust God to get us through it.

The worst is that we started off yesterday and got into a car
accident on the way out of town. With our van that we only bought 2 hours earlier! The truck in front of us lost its load and two mattresses came flying at us at full speed! I truly thought our lives were over. Somehow God helped us and only a rear window was blown out. Except it blew out all over Adam who was buckled into his car seat, although miraculously he literally doesn't have a scratch on him. It is an absolute miracle. We also lost a mirror and got some dents, but we can drive with those at least and deal with it
later.

So today we're getting ready to leave again, dealing with the expense and hassle and paperwork insurance and repairs. Somehow this is going to come together whether it's easy or not!

I uploaded Naomi's picture to the first post, and I'm attaching Noah's to this one. I think you just click on the link at the top marked "attachment" or something!

Kerri, what beautiful children. Are they brother and sister? I mean obviously they will become that when they join your family but are they right now? Many prayers going out for you and your family. Safe travel, how far do you have to go?

Kerri,
I'm so excited for you and they are adorable! I've been on your side of this, and it can get hairy sometimes. But, from my experience, adopting an older child is so rewarding, especially when you can look back and see how far they've come.

God bless you!

We've had custody of our little ones for a week now. Things are going beautifully. Naomi has far exceeded all professional expectations of adjusting. We were Mama and Daddy the hour she met us. She's waited for a family and is so excited to be part of ours. Of course the bigger ones all fight and play and act like normal siblings, so that probably helps it to feel like she's been with us forever!

Noah has been doing wonderful. Nursing well now, and only received 12 ounces of supplement yesterday and 8 oz. today, so I'm already making more than half of what he's eating now. I'm so excited. And only 4 oz. of that was formula, the rest was donor milk from a LLL friend.

We are adjusting pretty well. Dave goes back to work tomorrow which will be a little challenging, plus Cole starts kindergarten in the morning too. Exciting times, we'll see how it goes!
