I've had a monster sore throat for three days and will go to doc tomorrow. I am desperately hoping it's not strep. (no white patches on the back of my throat that *I* can see). If needed, are there any safe antibiotics that I can take while breastfeeding? I'd hate to pump and dump for 10 days.

Any help would be appreciated.

thanks, Deborah

I took amoxicillin while breastfeeding as well as while pregnant. Just let the Dr know you need something safe for nursing.

Thanks, Laurie!

I got over my illness two days later so no need for meds. And baby didn't get sick! Nice to know the breastfeeeding works so well!
