My doc gave me samples of this, but said he didn't know if it's safe when nursing. What I've read online seems inconclusive. Anyone have any info?

what are you taking it for? I didn't really find any useful info on it in regards to nursing and Dr Hales site is down while he is out of town. Not knowing what you need it for I hesitate to say anything about it.

I have some rheumatological disorder that is as yet undiagnosed (might be lupus). One of the symptoms is that when it flares I am absolutely unable to stay awake. I mean You can stand in front ofme screaming and hitting me in the face with a pillow and I won't wake up. (it happened.) This is bad, considering I have four babies under the age of three who I am the sole caretaker of during the day. The Rheumatologist gave me this, saying it would keep me awake during the day when I flare up. I haven't started it yet, as I am not in a flare up right now.

LC just called me back. She said that there is no concern about the way it will affect the baby, nut it is known to dramatically decrease milk supply! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/ooo.gif" alt="" /> I hope my doc can give me something else before the next flare up. Falling asleep and leaving a toddler unattended with infant triplets is just not an option.

Hi Jamie,

I've emailed Dr. Hale for his recommendation.

Hi Jamie,

I just heard back from Thomas Hale, Ph.D. He suggests Ritalin because milk levels are low with this medication. Please discuss this with your doctor.

Best,
