Hi Everyone,

We'll the day has finally arrived after 3 years of trying since our son was born. We had a positive beta of 93!

We do this thing where if the news is positive our GS calls and if it's negative the counselor calls. We were expecting the call in the afternoon and so when our GS called in the AM I didn't quite "get it" at first. I was driving and had to pull over into a parking lot as she told me. It was like "OMG YOU'RE calling me" which could only mean that the news was good.

We're presently vacationing in Florida so my husband, Rob was on the golf course. I wanted our wonderful GS to have the pleasure of telling him so I had her call him. He was in the middle of a swing on the 18th hole and thought it was me calling to bug him. Boy was he surprised. He said later that his golf swing went south. He was too excited to do anything. And my dad was standing right there so Rob had to fess up.

Meanwhile there I was in the parking lot crying and happy at the same time.

Looking forward to our second beta. I'll post the news as soon as we have it.

I want to thank everyone for their support and encouragement.

Fondly,

Lenore Goldfarb, Ph.D.,CCC,IBCLC

Congratulations Lenore,
Are you going to start the regular protocol again? I am so envious that you are able to have your and your husbands bio child with a surrogate. That is so wonderful. And a 3-4 year difference in age in your kids is going to be so perfect.
We are all so happy for you! Keep us posted! Take care, Cathy

Hi Everyone,

As you know, our first beta was a very nice 93 and we were anxiously awaiting news that it would approximately double to at least 180 over the next two days. Our wonderful surrogate mom called first thing this morning to let us know that the 2nd beta was 203!!!!

My husband and I are over the moon with happiness today. Looking forward to weekly updates and planning our trip to see the heartbeat on ultrasound in about 3 weeks.

Once we see the heartbeat, I'll begin the Induced Lactation Protocol to bring in my milk supply as I did for our son Adam. I'm looking forward to the experience with far less anxiety this time around now that we know so much more about the process.

Thank you to everyone who emailed and posted with their good wishes and heartfelt words of encouragement.

Fondly,

Lenore Goldfarb, Ph.D.,CCC,IBCLC
