Our profile was shown a second time, but we were not chosen as parents. I really felt like this was the one, but I guess not. Ho hum.... How do you not becomed scarred from disappointment?

oh, sweetie, it will happen! Is this your first adoption? We are working on our third, and I still get so gung-ho about every possible situation. It really is hard not to take it personally when you are not chosen.
We were shown recently. The bmom had 3 profiles to look at. She gave back 2 and kept 1, then asked for more profiles. the one she kept was ours. Dh was making a joke, "There's got to be somebody better than these guys!" We shouldn't take it that way, but it's hard NOT to feel that way, sometimes.

Don't give up. Adoption is a hard road, and anyone who tells you that you are doing it "the easy way" is an idiot. They have no idea! Hard as it is, these are your "labor pains". Remember your breathing, and at the end of all these "labor pains" you will have a beautiful baby to show for it.

We just got our baby boy July 12th after a 7 month wait (it was expected to be 3-6 months). I finally got to the point that I told our agency to please not tell me when they were showing our profile. I kept thinking "what's wrong with us?" So your feelings are VERY normal. I will tell you that once you get that baby of yours, you won't even remember the wait <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" /> And with adoption, if you stick it out, you WILL get your baby! Vent all you need to, it'll help you get thru it.

Blessings

Thanks for the reassurance. I wasn't so upset the first time because it just didn't seem right some how. I'm probably just in the "having trouble waiting" phase again since it seems to come and go. Our SW said there are no more bm's in sight right now. That definitely makes the wait harder.
On the flip side, I started Yasmin a week ago after having taken two months of Ovcon 35 and dom with no breast changes, and Tuesday I notice a slight increase in breast size and Wednesday about a 1/2 cup size! Yeah! I'm glad I switched over to the Yasmin.
