Finally!!!!!! I have a beautiful baby boy he's 4 months old weighing in at 14lbs. He is the happiest little baby ever and so healthy you should see his thighs!!! Breastfeeding isn't going as smooth as I hoped for but I'm going to keep trying. I read a thread a while back about using a syringe of milk to help with latch on and it's kind of working. He's just so used to bottles. My supply is coming back stronger than ever I'm drinking soooo much water and I'm getting half an ounce from both breast at each pumping session so far (it's been almost 2 weeks I think)
I'm just so happy everytime I look at this little guy I feel this tingle in my heart I love his so much already! Tyler doesn't like him much but he'll come around he's just a little jealous =0) There's no turning back this time this one is mine for good!!!!

HOORAY!!!! I am so happy for you Richette. Do you have a lact-aid? You might try nursing him when he isn't super hungry or when he is sleepy as it is sometimes easier to get them to latch. You can also do lots of skin to skin with him. Taking a bath together is a good way to work it out. Often babies willlatch easily when in the bathtub with mommy.

I am so happy for you yayyy!!!!! Its about time you got your baby. If you have to use a bottle make sure its either the playtex silicone nipple or the avent. That should help him transition to the breast. I would not use a regular bottle at all. If you do have a lact-aid. You can squeeze the bag to start milk flowing over your nipple. See if you can get him interested that way

I do have a Lact-aid but the baby seems to get really fussy at the breast it's driving us both crazy. I'm not giving up though we'll get a latch I know it! He's taking well to my milk, no throwing up, healthy bowels so that's great. We are using playtex natural disposable bottles but I might try Avent, they worked wonders with Tyler, and speaking of which he is finally giving the baby kisses and helping him hold his bottle. He's adapted to this whole big brother thing I'm so proud of him =0)He is also potty training and doing well but we've got some work cut out for us! Thanks for the helpful tips Nona the skin to skin is really helping with the bonding process.. I rock him to sleep and he reaches his little hand out and touches my face so I kiss his hands and hold him tight. It's such a wonderful experience! Tyler was still in the NICU at this age so it's a huge difference with a healthy baby no wires or oxygen just baby I love every minute of it.

Richette you may try threading the lactaid in to a bottle nipple and holding it to you rbreast so he gets the milk through the nipple he is used to but up against you. Slowly transition to the breast. I have a print out on it. If you give me your email I will send it to you. You can send me a private message if you don't want to post it here.

Thank you so much for that article, it at least feels like I'm breastfeeding now with the Lact-Aid tube through the nipple of his bottle, we're getting the skin to skin bonding so it's going better. I'll keep ya posted if (I mean WHEN) I actually get him to nurse. My supply is coming in strong I also ordered some tea that's supposed to help with lactation I sure hope it works! Thanks again!
