I agree...never go back to that one.
My doctor also didn't know a thing about adoptive nursing.
But she was willing to admit it and read up about it and referred to an OB and a Lactation specialist to find out more about it.

I just got another call from my family doctors office and there was another soon to be adoptive mom in there that was wandering how I will be able to breastfeed the baby, I guess the ladies at the front office were telling her about me because they are so excited for my family, well anyway they called me and I referred her to this site and gave her my phone number, what a small world.

I hate it when doctors feel they can rule your lives. Not writing a script for a pump! Good Grief! That is a shallow person.

Hate to jump in on your thread - but - I finally got our gp to give me a rx for the pump. But nobody knows where to go to get it filled. Our local medical supply says "maybe the hospital"???
Any ideas or are there any supply companies via the web?

central florida - Leesburg area to be exact.
But I'm a bit discouraged as I called BCBS of Fl and they said a pump is not covered. Maybe I should just stick with the PISA. I don't know?? If it would make a big difference I would bite the bullet and get one anyway - any thoughts?

I believe the coverage falls under durable medical equipment.

It looks as though Medela is going to just the PISA. They have discontinued the Pump in Style Traveler. They only have the Pump In Style Advanced Back Pack now. They do still have the pump in style original. But I really liked the fact that I could take the unit out of the back pack to save space. I am getting a Pump In Style Advanced. Its been several years since I have tried one. See how well they work now. As it looks like before long it will be the only one available
