Hello!

I have a quick question - I did the regular protocol and have been happily nursing my son for about 9 months now (he is 13 months old). He nurses 3-4 times a day, and also gets one bottle a day. I would love to eliminate that last bottle! Would taking Goat's rue at this point help? It seems that if I add more pumping, there is less left for him. We do not use a supplementor...

Thanks!

I would order it. You can get it from most vitamin/herb suppliers

I ordered it from harbalextractsplus.com
Thier shipping was quick. I have ordered both the caps and the bulk powder. Either was alright with me.

Did you order the caps? If so, I took two in the am and two in the pm. If you ordered the bulk powder - I put 1 tsp in a small glass of OJ (nothing else I have tried masks the taste) one in the am and one in the pm

Kim is that the amount per Lenore? I was going to email her and ask but if that is what she told you then I won't worry about and we can just go with that.

I ordered some Goat's Rue in Ottawa through the Ottawa Natural Clinic Pharmacy on Slater St. It took them just a couple of days to get in and came as a tincture. It is a Boiron homeopathy product.

I can't remember if it was her who told me about the caps or not. The powder was per the company - said it was the equialent to the caps.

It is good to know how much. I scanned the breastfeeding info and didn't find anything on Goats Rue in there.

Found this advice on kellys mom:

Suggested dosage: tincture 1-2ml 3X/day
infusion Add 1 cup of boiling water to 1 tsp dried leaves. Infuse for 10-15 minutes. Drink 1 cup 2 times per day.

But not sure what that equals for the capsules...

When I was taking it, I was just following the directions on the bottle of tincture:

10 (0,2 ml) to 30 (0,6 ml) drops 1X to 3X/day

If I recall correctly, I was taking 10 drops 3X/day. Unfortunately I wasn't on it long enough to know if it made a significant difference in supply. I'm currently back on the protocol and am not pumping.

The doctors at our clinic usually suggest the mom follow the recommendations on the bottle because each brand is different as is the powder vs the caps vs the tincture etc.

Best, Lenore
