I don't think the yeast infection is due to relactating. But I do have a few suggestions. I would stop taking this herb tea. Peppermint is one that STOPS milk production and red raspberry can either help or stop. Some women it stops milk production as well. I would stick to the Fenugreek and Blessed thistle 3 capsules 3 times a day. I am surprised they put peppermint in the tea!

Thanks Nona, the tea seemed to work well, my milk supply is increasing, but it might work even better! I'll try what you suggest. It's strange they put an herb that stops milk production in an herb tea especially intended to stimulate the production of milk!

Hi J.

We have not experienced anyone who has been successful at either inducing lactation or re-lactating with this preparation which is quite often used in my province of Quebec. Try the fenugreek/blessed thistle combination, the recommendation is 3 capsules of each, 3 times per day. This has more consistent results.

Best,

You're from Montreal!!! So am I. You can get your fenugreek and blessed thistle from the Walmart pharmacy at the end of Jean-Talon where it meets Decarie. I think Jean Talon becomes Jockey street at that point.

Why don't you pop into our breastfeeding clinic located within the Herzl Family Practice Center of the Jewish General Hospital to discuss inducing lactation? Our clinic is free and we can answer a lot of questions you may have and you can be monitored at the same time.

Email me off the message board at lengold@sprynet.com or lenore@asklenore.info and I'll arrange for you to be seen. I just want to mention that most of us will be away at a conference Tuesday-Sunday this week but we can book you an appointment for next week. I'm currently on parental leave but I'll be happy to come in and meet with you.

Best,
