I just got out of the hospital. I had to have emergancy surgery on my right arm (hence bad typing) (terrible cast) I missed three days of dom, and this weekend is when I was due to start pumping. Should I just go ahead a pump like I never missed it? Or should I wait and start over?

Please help

I knew I had carpol tunnel syndrome and had surgery for my right hand scheduled for in jan.. However, monday my hand was hurting a little worse then normal aftter typing before bed.. I woke up in the middle of the night with my right hand blue and numb. They did surgery on it on tues morning, carpol tunnel realease and nerve repair. I stayed in the hospital till this morning (friday) and since you can't bring your meds from home to the hospital I had to use there's, only my hospital doesn't have dom or it's generic.... So I have missed 3 days of dom. I would still like to start pumping this weekend if I can, to have the extra time to get started,dr changed my cast today before sending me home so I can use my fingertips on that hand. Is it still possible for me to continue as schedualed even though I missedd those days of dom? any thoughts? I could use some good advice.

(p.s., at least no surgery in jan now)

Hey Janeen,

I'm so sorry to hear the rough time you have had. The three days of lost dom should have very little impact if any. Just jump back on it (with your doctor's ok of course) and proceed as planned.

Best, Lenore
