I've been following the regular protocol - I think I took the yasmin a whole 9 months. We got accepted to our agency's waiting pool at the end of October and started the pumping/herbs/oatmeal the beginning of November. I have 2 1/2 year old adopted twins, so pumping is a challenge at times (and of course they want their turns pumping too! ha! ) I work 2 days a week as a critical care nurse so pumping those days is tough because of the job, etc. I usually get 5-6 pumpings in a day 20-30min of length. My lact consultant told me to shoot for at least 100min a day.So I am going on my 6th month of pumping and I'm only getting about 7-9 oz/day. My lact consult says that if I'm making 1.5-2 oz a pumping I should be ready for a newborn. We have been recently picked and our now excitedly waiting for our little girl to be born! Her due date is 8/6 - so my question is if there is anything else that I can due to increase my amount? I induced lactation with the twins but was not prepared to "do" 2 babies so only attempted breastfeeding for about 3 weeks before I was completely over-whelmed. In reading people's posts I am slightly discouraged see the wonderfully large amount people are producing after a lot shorter time pumping than me! Any advice would be so greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance!
