I have been pumping every 3 hours and once overnight for almost 2 weeks. This weekend we were out of town and I decided it would be ok to skip the middle of the night pumping saturday night. I am paying for it today!!! I woke up with aching breasts and I think a plugged duct in the left breast. OUCH!! I am uncomfortable. I can't believe this would happen when I only get a few ml's each time I pump...I am making about 1.5 ounces in 24 hours...
Any suggestions? could this really be "engorgement" or a plugged duct? I have been putting warm compresses on the left side while I am pumping and doing lots of massage....melanie

Pump more often.

When you get a baby, you get rid of plugged ducts by nursing them with their chin pointing to the lump. Right now all I know to do is pump more and massage.
