I'm shocked! At our meeting on Saturday our BM said she'd give us breast milk. Apparently formula allergies run in her family so she doesn't want us to have to supplement with formula. Honestly I had no idea that a formula allergy ran in the family. Good thing I wanted to BF. I'm also excited because I really wanted my LO to have colostrum and this is a way to provide that to him/her.

Hopefully I'll provide enough for our LO's needs though and won't need the BM's breast milk but we'll see. She is due on 4/26 but say's she goes into labor early so probably mid April. So I'll start pumping mid Feb. Just a few weeks. We don't know the gender yet and will find out tomorrow. (she'll be just over 28 weeks). We haven't told family yet so once we find out the gender we will be announcing it to family. We had a failed adoption prior to this so we really wanted to make sure this was the real deal. Although we all know that anything can happen with adoptions (our last one failed when the BM went into labor-BF decided to parent). So far though this adoption is going great and I'll feel better once we go to the doctors with her.

I'm nervous and excited to start pumping. I will have been on the protocol this time around for 64 day's. I was on it before for 39 day's with a 29 day break in between. So I'll have been on it for 103 day's total before I start pumping. I don't know how my break effects me though. Hopefully it helps that I was on the protocol before. I regret going off it but to be honest I didn't expect to find another BM so soon.

That is so exciting! Is she going to bf in the hospital?

After being on the pill for over 3 months, you should build up a supply quickly! GOod luck!

No she's going to pump and give us milk. Actually she doesn't want to stay in the hospital but I'm not sure she's going to have a choice cause in our state the baby can't come home with use for 3 day's. it's going to suck because that means I have to stay with the baby in the hospital if I want to breast feed. And I refuse to do anything other then breast feed if I've been pumping for 2 month's.

thanks. I hope I'm able to have a good supply! I'm going to start pumping next weekend! eep! (she goes into labor early with her kids so I want to start pumping early to prepare) We haven't even told family yet about the adoption. We are telling them after we go to our first ultrasound. She's just over 28 weeks but we are just now finding out the gender.

Good luck with your first days of pumping! I feel like I have been doing this for too long! It has been 5 months since I started pumping...only one more to go and baby will be home!
