per day pumping 3-4 times a day after about 6 days of pumping. I took 63 days of the bcp and domp. Now I am just taking the domp and pumping. Is 5 ounces an ok amount for this long of pumping?

It's an excellent amount!! I am trying to remember what I was getting at that time. I was pumping 6 times a day, and I think I was still getting enough to freeze in one bag for the whole day. It was maybe a week before I started getting more than a bag's worth in one day. So you are doing really great! Congratulations!!

Wow! You are doing great in my book! I am curious, if you don't mind, have you ever bf before? I am wondering if that may be why I am so behind you in production. Today is three weeks of pumping for me and I am lucky if I get 1/2 oz. a day. It takes several days for me fill a bag. On top of the domperidone and herbs, I am trying to take in some oatmeal and have started hand expressing while I am pumping (I think this is what got me up to 1/2 oz.) This is my first time bf, and I was only pg for a few weeks. I have heard that if you have never bf before it is more difficult. Is there some magic potion or do I need to switch to Wheaties for breakfast?!

I did bf both of my bio kids. I only bf my dd for 6 weeks and my ds for 3 weeks or so. Did you take the bcp and domp or are you trying the natual method?

It doesn't necessarily matter if you have breastfed before. I have never breastfed before, and have never been pregnant. Everyone just responds differently. Do keep up compressions while you are pumping, as that will help. I have not been able to pump much of anything, now that I am feeding my son, and what little I get, I can get because of breast compressions while pumping. How often are you pumping per day?

Rocken-Robin
Yes, I did 63 days on the Excelerated Protocal.
Dawn,
I try to pump every 4 hours. My schedule is really wacky right now, so I am keeping really late nights, so I'm usually still up for my middle of the night pumping. So I don't really know how many times a day I am pumping, (although it seems like all the time!)

Wow Robin,
You're really on your way!!! Congratulations.
Melissa,
Try changing your dosage of domperidone to 30 mg 3 times a day and see if that helps. From what I see you're pumping about 6 times per day. You really need to try to pump every 2-3 hours by day and at least once during the night. It takes time but once it gets going, it really gets going.
What pump are you using?...sorry if I already asked that question....
Fondly,

Lenore,
I am using the Medela PIS. I have increased to about 3/4 of an oz. so I am increasing. I'll try the 30 mg 3 times a day. I tried pumping every 2-3 hours, but I just couldn't seem to make it happen that often. Perhaps with the increase in Domperidone and trying to increase my pumpings that will give me a boost. I'll give it a try. Thanks!
