Hi:
I'm happy to report that today, Day 15, I increased up to 2 1/4 ounces for the day. Yay! 2 1/2 ounces to be next. I've been freezing 2 ounce packets and now am going to save up for a 4 ounce packet.

I have a question about pumping behavior. We are invited to a barbecue tomorrow from 4:00 p.m. til probably 8:00 p.m. That cuts right into my 6:00 p.m. pumping. Do you bring the breastpump with you and excuse yourself to the back room? Or do you pump right before and then right after? They live close so I guess I could also excuse myself and drive home to pump.

I have yet to pump outside of my house but would like to feel at ease about it.

What is accepted practice?

Thanks!

Oh, and one other thing. The woman inviting us tried induced lactation with her surro-baby. And she gave me the rest of her dom and herbs. So bfg-friendly household.

Thanks for you support.

LD, since you explained, I would talk to her and make sure she knows that you will need to pump around 6:00. Find out if she has a quiet room you can use, I would think she would be more than helpful. Let us know how it goes. BTW you are doing great with your milk making <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

LD, I would definitely pump in a quiet room at the BBQ. It'll be welcomed and probably open up some great conversation as people are always curious about inducing lactation. Great job on the progress you're making with milk production!

This actually happened to me as well. I went to a swim party and needed to pump while I was there. I had planned on hand expressing but during conversation with my friend she let me borrow her breast pump while I was there. And it did open up a very good conversation. Everybody was very interested. I say take your pump and have a great time.
CONGRATULATIONS!!! On your supply.
Julie
